My career as a photo - journalist began as a staff photographer for four years with the
Evening Times before moving to the The Herald for a further four on the staff. I then joined
The Daily Record for eight years as a staffer before moving to the Brisbane Sunday Mail for
a couple of years followed by a short spell in New York with a photo agency. I returned to
Scotland and have worked as a freelance for the past twenty years winning many Scottish and
British photographic awards during my career.

My client list includes The Herald Magazine, Hello, The Daily Mail, The Daily Mail
Magazine, Walt Disney Corporation, ITV Picture Publicity, Team Scotland, Blueprint Media,
Frame PR, Liquorice Media, Scottish Power, P4P Creative, Entrepreneurial Scotland, Skills
Development Scotland, Perceptive Communicators, Lang Syne Publishing etc.

During my career I have photographed many subjects including Sean Connery, Billy
Connolly, Ewan McGregor, Sophia Loren, Sir Anthony Hopkins, John Travolta, Sir Cliff
Richard, Daryl Hannah, Elton John, Robert Duval, Alice Cooper, Rod Stewart, Sting, Lauren
Bacall, Rod Steiger and Jane Russell.

In 2014 along with my colleague Stu Gray we formed our company MakeShorty Productions
specialising in photography, video and aerial video.
